Finished Socks

I finished these night before last and meant to post yesterday about them, but other things took priority. Work, eating, a long, wonderful phone call with a friend.

I had my final push to finish these, watching the olympics and wondering why Canada can’t pull off a medal. I know that the athletes are trying their best, and I love that they apologize to everyone when they don’t medal (how Canadian is that? Except that fencing girl. Her apology scared me!) but Togo has more medals than we do! Go Togo Go!!

Back now to my sport. You know, my second socks will never fly off the needles. Unless I have a deadline to finish, I certainly dawdle. However, I must say that I really do love this pattern!

I was unsure at first about the short-row heels. I thought it wasn’t as attractive as the heelflap/heelturn. But what I do love is that it’s quicker to do and I’m all for quicker. Also, I think it’s the heel to do whenever using a variegated or striped or multi-colour yarn so that you don’t get the ugly-pool at the instep.

So quick post here….just to catelog in one more spot (flickr, ravelry) my latest and currently most favourite pair of socks.

Pattern: Twinkleberry

Needles: Size 1us knitpick circulars

Yarn: Claudia Hand Painted Merino – Sea Dreams

Pattern knit as written except for toe. I did my old standard.
