knitters without borders

Further to yesterday’s post, I also wanted to highlight and link a fundraising campaign on the Yarn Harlot’s website about Tricoteuses Sans Frontières, or Knitters Without Borders. They have raised over $1.1 million with a goal of $2 million for Doctor’s Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières. Knitters are awesome, but we already knew that.

Because the Yarn Harlot, Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, writes so much better and eloquently than me, I am going to link her post here.

Briefly, the challenge for knitters (or anybody) is to take what we would spend on the extra non-essentials of our life over a week’s period and donate that to her fund. It obviously has added up and will make a huge difference to the lives of people who need it. Make sure to email her your donation amount and that will go towards her fundraising goal.

This is the link to her donation page that will be in the side-bar.

In other news… 3 posts in 3 days? Have I started something here? Stay tuned.

  1. Just so you know sister, I am peggy’s daughter. I like the sound of it and missyinedmonds was taken!? Probably my old account…but it is a new year and a new me. hah. And we are going to raise some hell this year going forward. Because as you quoted, “silence is compliance”. No more.
